How Social Media can be a “Business-maker” and how to avoid it becoming a “Business-breaker”…
That was the topic for our panel, representing all sectors – corporate business, entertainment, education, communications and content creation – this past weekend at the Bradford City AFC Business Club, hosted by Cedar Court Hotel Leeds/Bradford
With 100 guests attending from businesses in Bradford and the wider area we heard how social media is best used to engage with customers and clients. We discussed how your brand and publicity can be positively and negatively impacted by the tone and content of a post.
We discussed the value of removing emotion, pausing and taking a breath when engaging online – protecting the brand! We also learned how direct interaction can both raise your profile and generate positive PR – particular in the world of content-creation. Examples of positive experiences were shared with the audience, as were lessons learned from negative experiences.
This was an engaging discussion, where the value of what you post – and when – was evident. How the platform being used can effect the message, engagement and success of that interaction and how clarity of message is vital to optimising the performance.
Many thanks to our Panelists – Shoshana Whybrow, Emma Stakes, Kamran Mahroof, Danny Malin and Sam Pearce for their time and knowledge. Thanks also to Davide Longo, Anthony Baker, Mick Russell and the team for their organisation and for inviting me to host this event. I look forward to hosting the next Bradford City Business Club meeting in July.
