This was a fantastic night hosting a conversation with 3 x Super League Grand Final winner Stevie Ward
Rudding Park was the venue on for the golf club’s Captain’s dinner. A room comprising of golfers and committee members from the Harrogate & District Union of Golf Clubs. Hardly the usual audience for a former rugby league player but for nearly an hour the former Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club captain spoke about his career. The expectations, the successes and the adversity! A room full of passionate golfers, hung on his every word as he talked about teamwork, how to handle pressurised situations and how embracing nerves and fear can actually benefit your performance. We took questions from the room and he entertained guests with stories from a trophy ladened career at Leeds, playing alongside some of the best to take the field.
This is the first event I’ve worked on with Stevie and it was an absolute pleasure. A captivating speaker, who now leads teamwork, leadership and wellbeing sessions for business and clearly inspires those around him – regardless of the backdrop as this occasion proved. I look forward to working with him again in the future.
