Live Events/Awards season us open us and it’s a pleasure to have kicked it off by hosting the second annual OG 7s Ball at Headingley Stadium this past weekend.
This is a remarkable story! At a time when we are all too well aware how hard it is for amateur organisations to survive, OG 7s was only set up 2 years ago but this group are now preparing to compete in the Dubai 7s in November, on the back of a summer which has seen them win multiple “elite tournaments.” As a result, they’ve now been invited to compete at the Hong Kong 10s as well. In itself, recognition of their success over such a short period of time.
Over 200 guests celebrated their achievements on the night. There were fantastic items available in the auction and much hilarity ensued with games of “stand up/sit down” bingo! With a portion of the funds raised over the evening being donated to the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association.
A fantastic evening and a great event to be a part of. Congratulations to all involved and all the best in the upcoming competitions!
